Leaders at the Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD), recognize that people are our greatest asset. GISD would not be the successful organization it is without employees who work daily to make a difference and to carry out our mission of Leadership, Service, Innovation, Partnering for Success. At GISD, we also recognize how uplifting it can be to know you’ve made a difference in the lives of those you serve whether big or small.

To help celebrate our staff and encourage them to keep up the good work, the GISD has created the HIGH 5 Award. Now when a GISD employee does something extra special you can give them a “HIGH 5” to let them know their efforts are appreciated and didn’t go unnoticed. The HIGH 5 staff recognition program provides those outside the organization with an opportunity to acknowledge a member of the GISD staff who has gone above and beyond.

“An important part of valuing our staff is recognizing them when they do great work,” said Luke Wittum, Assistant Superintendent of Technology and Media Services. “While GISD has methods in place for staff to recognize one another, we did not have a process for those we serve to be able to recognize GISD staff. The HIGH 5 award was developed to give those we serve the ability to express their appreciation of GISD staff when they go the extra mile in providing customer service.”

If you would like to recognize the efforts of a GISD staff member by giving them a HIGH 5, fill out and submit the online form found here. Just tell us about your great experience with the GISD employee, and we will give them a HIGH 5 for you!
