Book Bowl

Program Description

Book Bowl is a competitive reading program for students in fifth through eighth grades. At the beginning of the school year, a committee selects 10 books that are age appropriate for each grade division of the contest. Students then have the school year to read these selected books.

Competition Rounds

The program culminates with a competition at Baker College in Flint. Judges and library media specialists develop questions about the books. Questions get more difficult as students progress through the three rounds of the competition:

  1. School finals
  2. District playoffs
  3. District finals
